A protective coating is always provided on the front and back of the glass/poly and the packaging ensures the frame arrives intact and protected from the journey to you. Great display frame for my souvenir towel from AT&T stadium! The towel fits almost perfect, the back piece is white so worked great for me. Now I just need to hang it.
